Updating magellan maestro 4250
Magellan uses a firmware application you install on your computer called Content Manager to manage updates.
When you plug a Magellan GPS device into your computer's USB connection, this application communicates with Magellan's servers to check for new updates and install them on your device.

To download new data from Content Manager, make sure your Magellan GPS is fully charged, power it off and connect it to a computer running Content Manager with a USB cable. Thanks Mike, from there may or may not be anything wrong with it, but id be surprised if there wasnt.this model is by far the worst magellan has ever put out, IMHO, it is plagued with problems right out of the start, restarts, wont charge because of the faulty usb connector, freezes, white screen, problems with the digitizer, the screen become littered with dead pixels and on and on., all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system. If not, it is possible there is a shorted circuit inside, then in that case, would have to be sent into Magellan to replace or repair. Then let go, and this is manually rebooting it, See if now it functions properly, Please let me know, and if fixed, then the 4 thumbs up for my solution with small comment is most appreciated.
When unit is completely off, then turn on, but this time, when turn it on keep the on button fully depressed, do not let go regardless as the unit is turning on, and even when it is coming on going through its thing, keep on button depressed for 10 seconds after unit fires up.
